The Alberta River Surfing Association (ARSA) and the Alberta Whitewater Association (AWA) are developing an adjustable beginner river wave in the lower water channel at Harvie Passage. The ARSA and AWA will gather necessary funds, arrange all permits, manage the project, and operate and maintain the wave. The adjustable wave will be open to the public at no cost and be a positive and high profile recreational resource.

Key steps

  1. The adjustable wave is a recommendation in the City of Calgary Harvie Passage Facility Enhancement Plan from Summer 2023.

  2. The City of Calgary has provide ARSA and AWA a letter of support to pursue preliminary engineering.

  3. The next step is getting an Alberta Government letter of support.
